Funeral poetry collection marks Civil Ceremonies’ anniversaryA funeral directors’ book of poems, from poets ranging from Pam Ayres to Shakespeare, has been launched specifically to share with families.

Marking its 10th anniversary, Civil Ceremonies has created the collection, inspired by its own experiences with funeral poetry, and split it into sections for ease of reference.

Anne Barber, managing director of Civil Ceremonies, said: “Over the last 10 years we’ve been privileged to hear many wonderful and varied poems and readings that families have chosen.

“As an anniversary tribute, we thought it would be lovely to share 124 of our most popular and favourite pieces with funeral directors and with the families they are helping.”

The Collection of Poetry and Readings for Funerals includes sections such as Celebrating Life, When a Partner Dies, Babies and Children, and specialist units on woodland burials and scattering of ashes.

Funeral directors can have the booklets personalised with their own logo and branding, although minimum order numbers apply, or they can simply buy individual copies for the office.

For more information visit the Civil Ceremonies website (www.civilceremonies.co.uk) or call 0845 004 8608.
