A.W. Lymn funeral director up for national award
Lister has been shortlisted alongside eight other funeral directors, and A.W. Lymn said he is known for delivering funerals with care, compassion, and expert organisation
A.W. Lymn has revealed that one of its longest-standing employees, Dominic Lister, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the AGFD Good Funeral Awards 2022 for the ‘Funeral Director of the Year’ category.
Lister is a funeral director at the firm’s Bingham branch, having joined the company in 2009 and he has worked for the fifth-generation family firm for over 13 years. He has been shortlisted alongside eight other funeral directors.
A.W. Lymn said that Lister was nominated for being an “outstanding” funeral director, and that he is known for delivering funerals with “care, compassion, and expert organisation”.
The Association of Green Funeral Directors will be hosting the AGFD Good Funeral Awards 2022 in Stadhampton, Oxford, on 24 September.
Nominations recognise those who have delivered “exceptional service”, launched a new product or service, or “gone above and beyond” within their roles.
Lister said: “I can’t thank my colleagues and the directors at A.W. Lymn enough for giving me the opportunity to shine in my role, develop my skills and hone my offering to customers at every turn, so that I have the time and resource to treat each individual family with the respect and attention they deserve.
“It will be a real pleasure to attend the event, representing A.W. Lymn, and I’m excited to congratulate all of the winners at the final.”
Jackie Lymn Rose, director at A.W. Lymn, added: “We are incredibly proud of Dominic for being shortlisted for such an important award. His work within the community is incredibly commendable, and I am really pleased to be attending the ceremony with him on behalf of the whole company.
“Everyone at A.W. Lymn will be cheering Dominic on to win this very special award, but regardless, he is already a winner to us, and such a fantastic, supportive, and kind funeral director who is highly regarded by so many families within the community.”
A.W. Lymn entered the awards five years ago, nominating funeral director Louise Cook at the business’s Long Eaton branch, who has worked for the company since 2003, for over 19 years.
