One of the top three independent funeral directors in Scotland has seen its apprentice receive the Young Apprentice of the Year award.

The award, which is presented at the Glasgow City Commonwealth Apprenticeship Initiative Awards, has been received by Anderson Maguire Funeral Director’s apprentice, Daniel McNally.

Chairman Dom Maguire said: “Dan has shown outstanding commitment to the company since he started and this award is truly well deserved.”

The Commonwealth Apprenticeship Initiative was created by Glasgow City Council to help suitably qualified Glasgow school leavers with apprenticeships, offering financial incentives to businesses in return for new vacancies.
