Funeral director awarded honorary membership to NAFD
A special award presented by the National Association of Funeral Directors has been given to Barry Hutsby after his 40 years in the industry.
The award, an honorary membership into the association, has only been bestowed upon 25 people in the past 100 years, making Hutsby number 26. He was presented the award by national president Steve Pearce at the annual conference held in Southampton.
Hutsby who is a partner of Eastwood Funeral Partnership, which currently has four funeral homes including locations at Eastwood and Kimberley, said about the award: “I feel incredibly honoured to have received this award. Knowing that members of my own profession have chosen to present me with it fills me with pride.”
Alan Slater, chief executive of the NAFD said: “Barry has been, and still is an active member of the association and has served at every level of the NAFD with distinction. This is the highest accolade the NAFD has and as such we give it out very rarely and only in cases of exceptional service.”
