Industry worker plans world record cycling attempt for charity

Simon Atkinson, the funeral service operative team leader at Dillistone Funeral Service in Worthing, will this summer attempt to break a cycling world record in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

On 5 July, Simon will fly to Malaga in Spain to attempt the Guinness World Record for the fastest cycle across Europe.

Beginning in Tarifa, Spain’s southernmost point, Simon’s 4,000-mile cycling challenge will see him average 140 miles per day as he rides across Spain, France, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, and Finland, before finishing in Nordkapp in Norway, Europe’s most northerly point.
