FDs raise funds for air ambulance

North-east-based funeral directors have raised funds to support the Great North Air Ambulance.

Staff from the Co-operative Funeralcare in Stockton-on-Tees raised over £4,700 for the air ambulance at a special black-tie event. More than 100 people were in attendance at the fundraiser, which included a raffle and an auction hosted by Real radio breakfast presenters Gary and Lisa.

Manager at the Co-operative Funeralcare Stockton, David Knowles, said: “The air ambulance provides a vital life-saving service in the region and we are delighted to have raised much-needed funds to support its work.

“We are grateful for all the gifts that were provided for the auction and for those who attended the black-tie event and made it such a special occasion by raising so much money.

“The success of the night was down to the great support and organisation of our funeral director Kirsty Robinson and the rest of the team.”
