Rotherham-based funeral director Lisa Truelove has achieved her BTEC Advanced Diploma in Funeral Arranging and Administration.

Lisa, who works at the town’s Co-operative Funeralcare on Doncaster Road, gained her qualification after two years of studying. The comprehensive qualification covers all aspects of the role including funeral laws and customs, funeral arranging and caring for the deceased.

Having previously worked as an independent funeral director, Lisa joined the Co-operative Funeralcare as a funeral arranger in March 2009.

“I took an interest in the funeral profession in 1998, following the death of my father,” she said, “however a few years passed before I finally decided to apply for a position.

“In 2006 I joined the industry and made a promise to myself to treat every family as if they were my own. I love my job, which is more of a vocation as it’s a pleasure to arrive every day knowing that I can help others.

“My colleagues have become great friends and without their help and support, the days would definitely be more challenging.”
