Golden Charter launches UK’s first Funeral Planning Awareness Week

The initiative, which aims to get people talking openly about their funeral wishes, will feature across Golden Charter’s social media channels

Funeral plan provider Golden Charter has announced its launch of the UK’s first National Funeral Planning Awareness Week, which will run until Sunday 2 March.

The initiative, which aims to get people talking openly about their funeral wishes, will feature across Golden Charter’s social media channels where the company will share practical guidelines, insights, and the stories of colleagues and its funeral director partners who have witnessed the benefits of having discussions about funeral wishes.

Golden Charter’s independent funeral director partners are also taking part, with many businesses spreading the word in their local communities through social media, email campaigns and information sessions.

Jill Hood, chief marketing officer at Golden Charter, said: “So often, our customers tell us that putting a funeral plan in place has brought them peace of mind in the knowledge that their loved ones won’t have to make difficult decisions at the time of need. But this week isn’t all about pre-paid funeral plans – it’s about giving people practical tips and advice to help them start a conversation that’s so often put off for another day.

“We’re delighted to see so many of our independent funeral director partners from all over the country doing what they do best by engaging with their local communities to raise awareness of the benefits of having meaningful conversations about funeral wishes.”

Stuart Love, managing director of Love’s Independent Funeral Directors in Stafford, added: “As a business, we’re deeply committed to supporting our community in making informed choices. That’s why we’ve actively engaged in this awareness initiative – to encourage thoughtful planning and remove the uncertainty often associated with end-of-life arrangements.

“This week, we’re promoting the conversation through social media, information sessions and marketing material. By fostering these discussions, we hope to make funeral planning a more approachable and accessible topic for everyone.”

Golden Charter’s funeral director partners have access to a wide range of resources to help them get behind National Funeral Planning Awareness Week, which have been made available for download on its website.

The initiative is also supported by the provider’s TV advertising campaign due to run throughout March.
