Lea Fields Crematorium launches new virtual memorial offering
According to West Lindsey District Council, this offering will make direct cremations ‘just like attending a service’ and will give closure to families
Lea Fields Crematorium has announced the launch of a new virtual memorial service to commemorate the lives of those who pass.
Available for direct cremations, this personalised service will allow family and friends to reflect and watch the deceased’s final journey “at their own pace”.
The unattended service can be customised with music, personal photos and a poetry reading from the facility’s library.
According to West Lindsey District Council, this offering will make direct cremations “just like attending a service” and will give closure to families.
Those who request virtual memorial services will be able to follow the journey through the grounds of Lea Fields Crematorium; choose a photo that is featured as a focal point for reflection; and witness the coffin arriving for the committal, among others.
Within three working days of the direct cremation service, the virtual memorial will also be ready to download in three days through a secure and unique link sent to an email of choice.
Cllr Emma Bailey, who represents Lea at West Lindsey District Council, said: “The new virtual memorial service is dedicated to celebrating the lives of loved ones who have passed away. They are a personal keepsake for family and friends to share special memories.
“With the experience and knowledge from the team at Lea Fields Crematorium, they can help you make the choices you are comfortable with.”
Due to increased pressure on household finances and media advertising, direct cremations are becoming a popular choice for individuals and families planning a funeral.
