F.P Gaunt and Sons wins Family Business of the Year

Independent funeral director F.P Gaunt and Sons has won Family Business of the Year, at the The Express and Star Business Awards, held at Wolverhampton Racecourse.

The judging panel said they were impressed with how the directors “identified new opportunities and provided a low cost funeral service for the families of the Black Country and surrounding areas”.

In February 2019, the Gaunt family opened their fourth branch office ‘Gaunts of Wollaston’ in Stourbridge to serve alongside Stephen M Godber Funerals in Smethwick and Black Country Funeral Services in Cradley Heath.

Sam Gaunt, company manager, F.P Gaunt and Sons, said: “The award ceremony was a fantastic night and bringing home the trophy was an amazing feeling, working alongside my family to help other families through the difficult times of bereavement is a privilege and the award showcases that we really do make a difference.”
