Funeral Partners businesses gear up for Tour de Yorkshire
Two Funeral Partners’ funeral homes were among businesses who showed their support for cyclists who took part in the Tour de Yorkshire on 3 – 6 May 2018.
Funeral arrangers Helen Phelan, Nancy Brown, and Jackie Higgins from Wm Dodgson and Son Funeral Services, created a cycling-themed display in the window of their branch in Kippax.
The team from Wm Dodgson cheered on the cyclists as they passed the branch during the second stage of the event on 4 May.
Jackie Higgins from Wm Dodgson said: “You could really feel excitement in Kippax about this prestigious race passing through the village and the whole community worked together to show our support, it was such a great day.
“We were incredibly proud to be awarded second place out of all the businesses in Kippax for the best window display, and next year we are hoping to win!”
In Richmond, John Blenkiron and Sons Funeral Directors had their yellow bike in prime position outside the branch and the Blenkiron’s team supported cyclists as they begun the third stage in the town on Saturday 5.
James Blenkiron said: “The atmosphere in Richmond was electric! It was fantastic to see the whole community pulling together to put on a show for the huge crowds of supporters. We were delighted to be involved and hope to support the event if it comes through Richmond next year.”
