Stone-Safe holds memorial installation day

On 19 June, Weymouth College will be hosting an intensive course on the Stone-Safe stability system at its workshops in Poundbury.

Stone-Safe Stability Systems Ltd has designed and developed a memorial base which, when attached to a headstone, can resist an overturning force of 250kg+(meeting the required standard of 150kg).

The one day event, which takes place from 9am to 2.30pm, allows participants to meet Anton Matthews, the designer, and Terry Elliot, the assessor for the system. The day will include a presentation from Anton Matthews and information from Professor Stuart Moy of Southampton University on the engineering of the system. Attendees will see a demonstration of the system and have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A.

The event costs £40, payable on the day. Early booking is advised. For full details and bookings contact stonemasonry@weymouth.ac.uk or call 01305764707.
