Funeral director launches campaign to boost Wilton riding charity
Wilton-based funeral director Chris White has launched an appeal to help a local horse riding charity.
The Community Hands campaign asks 400 local residents and businesses to give £1 each to sponsor a community horse at Wilton Group Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), a charity that relies wholly on donations.
Those who donate to the scheme will put their details onto one of 400 vinyl hands, which will be added to a six-foot cardboard cut-out of March, the Exmoor pony at the riding centre.
The cardboard horse will be displayed in the window of Chris White’s Wilton branch, allowing local residents to follow the progress of the campaign and also to see who has bought a hand so far.
Once the initiative ends, the cardboard horse, complete with the vinyl hands of those who have supported the campaign, will be permanently put on display at the riding centre.
