Blacksmiths from Black Country Metal Works were left disheartened when their handmade garden pavilion was deemed too grand to be considered for the New Product Award at the Glee event.

Made with from a combination of period cast aluminium and traditional hand wrought iron, the pavilion, called ‘Araminta’, was designed especially for Glee.

Upon visiting the stand, judges stated that the pavilion was “too big” and “too expensive” to be considered for the New Product Awards.

Clive Knowles, who represented the company at the event in traditional 19th century black country dress, was left feeling “bemused” and “disappointed” at the verdict, after Black Country Metal Works had spent months on its design and production.
