‘Spring Thing’ brings in donations

A Port Glasgow funeral home has raised almost £300 at a coffee morning for Robin’s House hospice.

Staff from the Co-operative Funeralcare in Princess Street (including James Wright Funeral Directors) held the Spring Thing event on Saturday 7 April to raise funds for the children’s hospice.

The Spring Thing raised £283 for Robin’s House following support from local businesses that donated raffle prizes and visitors who bought hot drinks and refreshments.

Funeral arrangers Gill McKillop and Arlene Williamson organised the Spring Thing and were helped on the day by their friends and family.

Manager Kenny Keegan said: “We would like to thank all who came along on the day and all local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle. It was a great success raising a fantastic amount of money for a very worthwhile charity.”

Easter eggs, biscuits and chocolate were also donated by local residents before Easter and given to care homes for the elderly and to children’s homes.
