Statutory Medical Examiner System to be enforced on 9 September
Under these reforms, all deaths in England and Wales will legally become subject to either a medical examiner’s scrutiny or a coroner’s investigation
The parliamentary under secretary of state in the department for health and social care, Maria Caufield, has this week confirmed that the statutory Medical Examiner System will come into force on 9 September this year.
