New Chester Pearce funeral home opened
A new Chester Pearce funeral home, on Canford Heath, was opened last Tuesday.
The family owned and run company, now in its seventh year, created the new facility from scratch, having taken over the building as just four walls and a roof.
As managing director, Stephen Nimmo explains; “When we took over the building, it was literally a large open space, and so this gave us the chance to plan the type of layout that suited our needs.
“We were blessed with being able to use the same builders and shop fitters who previously worked on our first funeral home, and so they understood our ethos and what we wanted to achieve.”
The company took over the building in November of 2016, and by the end of February, the funeral home was operational, with Charlotte Hall at the helm. The central vision for the company, and so, this branch is one of serving the community, and Charlotte has been delighted with the response from the people living on the heath.
“Our doors are always open to anyone wanting to come and chat, and have a cuppa, and I have been so pleased by the positive way people have embraced our service. As a new funeral home, there is an expectation of perhaps one or two funerals a month in the first year, but we have been arranging five or six services a month so well over expectations.”
On 5 December, Stephen, his sister, Liz and the staff welcomed family, friends, and those who support the business, from local hospitals, crematoria, churches and the wider community, and took the opportunity to say thank you.
Stephen continues; “We provide the very highest standards of care to the families we serve, but that simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support we receive from colleagues. My staff are totally committed to the support of our clients, and so too are the staff in the hospitals, at the crematoria, and in the ministry.
“The fact so many chose to come and help us celebrate this wonderful achievement of our second funeral home is a testament to the work we have done in building relationships, and understanding that those around us seek the same as we do, and that is to support the bereaved in the best way possible.”
