Westerleigh Group opens 28th crematorium

The Westerleigh Group has announced the opening of its 28th crematorium. Langstone Vale in Magor Road Langstone, which will serve Newport and Monmouthshire, opened its doors on 20 November 2017

The new Crematorium, which is set against a background of established woodlands, is finished in local stone and natural finishes, in keeping with its rural surroundings and offers a quiet location that provides privacy.

Richard Evans, managing director of the Westerleigh Group, said: “I am delighted to see the new crematorium finished, it seems a long time since we first won planning permission and I am grateful for the confidence placed in Westerleigh by Newport Councillors.”

Philip Blatchly of Philip Blatchley and Sons Funeral Directors organised the first Service at the new Crematorium. He said: “We are very pleased that the new crematorium is finally open as it will provide the right level of service for bereaved families in the surrounding area, the chapel is spacious and light and all of the facilities have been built to a very high standard.”
