School children get winter road safety message from Co-op Funeralcare
More than 250 schools across the UK have worked alongside the Co-operative Funeralcare in the build-up to the winter months in an effort to keep youngsters safe through the season.
The UK’s largest funeral service provider has teamed up with the national road safety charity, Brake, to encourage schools to make road safety a priority during winter.
To date, the schools have been given around 45,000 high visibility reflective badges, in a bid to combat road accidents over the winter period.
John Taylor, national community manager for the Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “We are helping to raise awareness of the importance of being visible on the road during dark nights.
“With the clocks just going back, darker mornings and evenings mean that children need to take extra care on their journeys to and from school.”
