Elizabeth Way and Company unveils new Community Assistance Programme
The fund will be distributed in three cycles
Elizabeth Way and Company Funeral Directors has announced the launch of its Community Assistance Programme, a funding initiative to support local projects.
The programme is open for applications and ready to award small grants of up to £300 to eligible organisations within three miles of their funeral home in Stamford Street, Mossley.
The team wants to support causes led by people who have a clear understanding of community issues and that address the needs of the most disadvantaged people in the local area.
The fund will be distributed in three cycles. The first opening started on 4 March and the deadline for this round of applications is 1 April at noon. The other two cycles will open in June 2024 and September 2024.
Pauline Lawrence, funeral director, said: “I’m proud to work for a business at the heart of the community in Mossley. These are difficult times for everyone, with people having to very carefully consider how they spend their money, which will have a knock-on effect on the donations these grassroots organisations rely on to help those in need.
“We know there are some brilliant projects in Mossley who could benefit from some financial and voluntary assistance, but also there will be others we don’t know about who will be doing equally fantastic work, so it would be great to hear from those too.”
She added: “We are keen to use this programme as a first step in building long-term relationships with the organisations who contact us, so we can continue to support such great causes and initiatives in the community through other activities. If you are involved with a scheme that could benefit, then please do get in touch.”
