Eaves Funerals delivers Xmas cards for vulnerable people

This service aims to help those within the community who have mobility issues, are housebound, or are struggling with the cost of living

Eaves Funeral Directors in Whitehaven are delivering Christmas cards on behalf of vulnerable people in its community

The funeral home has set up four post boxes across the areas of Kells, Seacliffe, Woodhouse and Greenbank where people are unable to get out and about to deliver their own cards.

This service aims to help those within the community who have mobility issues, are housebound, or are struggling with the cost of living. They can drop their seasonal greetings in the addressed envelopes, or arrange for someone to do it on their behalf.

The team at Eaves have collected the cards today (Friday 15 December) and are due to deliver them over the weekend, ensuring they all reach the right place in time for Christmas.

Mike Jolly, business principal at Eaves, said: “We wanted to be able to help those in our local community who are unable to get out and about to deliver their greetings cards in the area.

“These cards mean so much at this time of year for a lot of people so we thought it’d be a good idea to do our bit. We’ve had a great response to the idea, and we hope we can help lots and lots of people.”

He added: “We are proud of our role in the community and wanted to do something a little extra over the Christmas period.”
