Langstone Vale Crem makes donation to Morgan’s Wings

The donation will support the charity in its work supporting families affected by miscarriage

Langstone Vale Crematorium has donated £889 to South Wales-based charity Morgan’s Wings, using proceeds from Westerleigh Group’s metal recycling scheme.

With the consent of families, metals recovered during cremation are recycled, and any money raised is used to support selected charities, local activities and environmental initiatives which benefit the communities that the crematorium serves.

The donation will support the charity in its work supporting families affected by miscarriage.

Morgan’s Wings was founded by Jude and Geoff Davies after losing their child Morgan during pregnancy. The charity operates entirely through the generosity of local people and businesses, as it does not receive any external funding.

Jude Davies said: “We strive to honour the lives of babies lost through miscarriage and early pregnancy loss, and to educate others about the impact of miscarriage and the importance of support.

“This donation from Langstone Vale Crematorium will have a profound impact, enabling us to continue our vital work. These funds will help us provide memory boxes to grieving families, giving them something tangible to honour their loss, and a place to keep cherished items from their pregnancy.”

“We are deeply grateful for this support, which helps us ensure no family feels alone in their journey through loss, and we thank Langstone Vale Crematorium for helping us share our mission.”

Aaron Carter, manager at Langstone Vale Crematorium, added: “Jude and Geoff have transformed what was an extremely difficult and emotional time for them into something which brings vital support and comfort to other parents in similar circumstances, and we are only too pleased to be able to make this donation to help them continue their incredible work.”
