Fosters Funeral arranger to climb Ben Nevis for mental health charity
The charity supports bereaved parents of suicide victims, and siblings of suicide victims through counselling or help with funding for play therapy
Julie Steel, funeral arranger at Fosters Cumnock is one of six friends raising funds for charity by climbing Ben Nevis on 10 July.
The team aim to raise funds for local bereavement support charity ‘Beautiful Inside and Out’.
Beautiful Inside and Out is a charity that was set up by the family of Jenna Moriarty, who took her own life at 13.
The charity supports bereaved parents of suicide victims, and siblings of suicide victims through counselling or help with funding for play therapy.
They also run sessions with a music and drama group, working in schools and with other groups to “promote positive feelings of self-worth in young people”.
Steel said: “I work with bereaved families through my role as at Fosters and I regularly recommend Beautiful Inside and Out to families because they offer such amazing support.
“I know they rely on fundraising to continue their work and wanted to do something to help. So, my friends and I decided we’d get our hiking boots on and take on a fresh challenge to climb Ben Nevis.”
