Fosters makes Easter Egg donation to Scottish Women’s Aid
The chocolate will be distributed by Women’s Aid centres in Monklands, Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire
This Easter, Fosters Family Funeral Directors has teamed up with five different Women’s Aid centres across Scotland to provide 500 Easter eggs for the children and young people within their care.
The chocolate will be distributed by Women’s Aid centres in Monklands, Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire.
Scottish Women’s Aid provides a confidential service that offers information, support and temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse.
According to Fosters, this is an issue which has been “on the rise due to the recent lockdown restrictions”.
Sarah Reilly, funeral arranger at Fosters Hamilton branch, said: “Women’s Aid provides an invaluable service and does a brilliant job helping vulnerable women and children in our local community.
“We hope that our donation of chocolate eggs and sweet treats helps to make this Easter holiday a little more enjoyable for all of those supported by Women’s Aid.”
Geri McGuire, senior children and young persons worker at Monklands Women’s Aid, added: “Covid 19 has affected us all but it has further exacerbated the impact of domestic abuse on those we serve. I look forward to delivering the eggs to the children and young people and seeing the delight on their faces.”
