FBCA awards top marks to Stirlingshire Crematorium
The latest report comes just months after a Scottish regulatory inspector praised the facility for providing ‘a first-class service to the local community and beyond’
Stirlingshire Crematorium has announced that a second inspection by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) resulted in top marks in the areas of crematorium administration, ceremony facilities, grounds and memorialisation, and service and staff.
This second inspection found an “excellent” level of service provision and did not feel it necessary to make any recommendations.
The latest report comes just months after a Scottish regulatory inspector praised the facility for providing “a first-class service to the local community and beyond”.
According to the FBCA inspector, Michael Day, the facility was found to be operating “in accordance with the three key areas of compliance” – the Cremation Regulations 2009, the Defra Process Guidance notes 5/12, and the Code of Cremation Practice.
The crematorium was also praised for its proactive approach to environmental issues.
Robert Swanson QPM, senior inspector of burial, cremation and funeral directors in Scotland, said: “The Cremation Authority are fortunate in having such an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional team at Stirlingshire Crematorium, working under the direction of experienced management.”
Donnie Connor, manager of Stirlingshire Crematorium, added: “I am proud of everyone involved in the running of Stirlingshire Crematorium, to have earned two positive inspection reports this year.
“This inspection report is a welcome endorsement of the exceptional care we provide to the families we support. Two positive inspections hopefully demonstrate that our standards are consistently high, something we are very proud of.”
Stirlingshire Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, which was the first cremation authority in the UK to adopt the FBCA’s environmental policy in 2021.
