Mears partners with Tree Nation to make repatriations greener
Through this partnership, Mears Repatriation will be contributing to a worldwide effort to combat climate change through the strategic planting of trees
Mears Funerals announced a partnership with Tree Nation, a reforestation initiative, to offset carbon emissions associated with the flights it arranges for international repatriations by planting trees worldwide.
International repatriation involves significant air travel, generating carbon emissions that contribute to climate change.
Through this partnership, Mears Repatriation will be contributing to a worldwide effort to combat climate change through the strategic planting of trees.
In the process of offsetting carbon emissions, Mears Repatriation has allocated a set amount of CO2 emissions by continent: 1,000kg for Europe; 1,250kg for Africa; 1,500kg for the Americas; 1,750kg for Asia; and 2,000kg for Australasia.
The equivalent amount of carbon is offset by funding the planting of trees through Tree Nation, as trees play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide.
In addition, Mears also plans to regularly report on the number of trees planted, the areas affected, and the overall impact on carbon emission reduction.
