A.W Lymn launches bespoke military and veteran funerals
Nottingham and Derby based, fifth-generation family business A.W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service, has launched bespoke funeral services honouring those in the military and emergency services.
The business now offers a dedicated service that aims to provide “more options than any other funeral director in the country”.
The new service involves A.W. Lymn discussing with families what their requirements for a funeral are, and having direct ties with the Royal British Legion. The company can organise for a guard of honour to attend the funeral of loved one who has died in service, arrange regimental drapes for coffins, poppy wreaths can be made by the in-house floristry team, service vehicles can attend the funeral, and the forces minister padre can conduct or attend the funeral.
In April 2022, Matthew Lymn Rose signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of A.W. Lymn, which means the business will do all it can to support those who have left the armed forces and are looking for a new profession.
The company is also in partnership with Veterans Bereavement Support, and prides itself on the number of ex-personnel that work within the team, making the 120 plus strong team experts in providing support for military and veteran personnel.
Neil Reeves, Funeral Director in the A.W. Lymn Derby branch, who previously served in the forces himself, has arranged and managed most military and veteran funerals so far.
He said: “It’s incredible to be able to support another community here at A.W. Lymn. We cater for everyone, but we understand the importance of understanding the background of the Royal Navy, British Army, RAF, NHS workers, firefighters, police, and other incredible people who serve our country.
“Our new bespoke service means that across the board, we can offer help for everyone who has served our country and honour their lives in the most respectful and fitting way possible.”
These new services are not only for military families, but veterans, police, fire, and ambulance crews.
