Co-op Funeralcare becomes first national provider to join comparison site
Co-op Funeralcare has revealed it has become the first national operator to join price comparison site, Funeral Guide.
Its 830 UK funeral homes, which serve families right across the country, will now be included in the site’s listings, which aims to help the bereaved gain “valuable insight” into the cost of funeral services in their area.
Funeral Guide, which is free to use, also features independent reviews from verified customers.
Co-op Funeralcare offers a range of farewell options including essential and tailored funerals along with direct cremations and burials.
Samantha Tyrer, managing director of Co-op Funeralcare, said: “Funeral Guide provides an essential service to people right across the UK to ensure that they can arrange the right farewell for their loved one and we’re very pleased to be its first national provider.
“Our colleagues, who operate at the heart of local communities to support families at a time of devastating loss, are passionate about providing personal and unique farewells that represent a life lived.”
She added: “Ensuring they have simple and easy access to information on costs and services, in order to make informed decisions during difficult times, is an essential part of the planning process and we’re extremely proud to be leading the way on price transparency.”
Ed Gallois, CEO of Funeral Guide, said: “Co-op Funeralcare is a significant addition to the site and will help give consumers a more realistic picture as to the quality of care and costs they can expect to pay for funeral services in their area. With such a large network of homes, all operating locally in towns across the UK, it is paving the way on price visibility and transparency within the funeral profession.”
