Teesside-based company, Tree for life has announced the inclusion of six new tree saplings to its memorial tree urn.

The biodegradable urns are designed to hold cremated ashes which are then planted into the ground with seeds in the top section. The Tree For Life biodegradable urn will later become into a memorial to commemorate the life of a loved one.

There are six tree saplings to choose from; Hazel, Guelder Rose, Silver Birch, Rowan, English Oak and Cherry .

Each Tree For Life kit comes with the biodegradable urn and your chosen sapling, with complete instructions on how to use it, plus a soil pack, tree guard, pair of gloves, soil Ph meter, cotton bag for ashes. 

Funeral director at Rose Funerals and owner of Tree For Life Jamie Thomson said: “There’s a growing interest in eco-friendly funerals and burials, so an environmentally sound memorial option will no doubt appeal to those looking for alternative memorials for a loved one. 

“Our Tree For Life biodegradable urn is designed to allow an individual to return to nature, whilst leaving the family with something beautiful to remember them by.”
