Two funeral director firms join Funeral Partners network

A funeral home based in Greater Manchester and another based in Wiltshire have joined the Funeral Partners’ network.

Elizabeth Way and Company, based in Greater Manchester, was established in 2007 by Gail Willington, who had a long career as a nurse and fulfilled and extended her caring role into the funeral profession.

Willington gained qualifications in funeral directing and arranging and built up the business, opening her second funeral home in 2015. She will remain associated with the business as a consultant alongside funeral directors Anthony Barton and Tami Peel.

Willington said: “The business will continue to serve local families in the way that it has for the last 12 years. Funeral Partners has that family feel and will support and develop the business to go from strength to strength.”

Funeral Partners regional development director Julian Hodgkinson added: “Elizabeth Way and Company has built an enviable reputation locally for its community support, care, and professionalism and will make an excellent addition to our businesses in the north west of England.”

L C Hill and Son Funeral Directors, which has served the communities of Mere and surrounding districts in Wiltshire for over 65 years, was founded in 1952 by Leonard Charles Hill and is currently run by his son Ray Hill and his wife Val.

Mr Hill started working with his father before he left school and has served the local community 24 hours a day for over 60 years. He has lived in the area all of his life and served on Mere Town Council for over 40 years. The couple plan to retire but will remain associated with the business.

Funeral Partners’ regional development director, Peter Dearing, said: “Ray and Val are well known and respected throughout the community in Mere and we are delighted to welcome them. Funeral Partners is now investing in refurbishing the funeral home and chapel of rest.

“The business will establish close links with our funeral home F Curtis and Son Funeral Directors of Warminster whose funeral director Damian Eyres will also work with L C Hill and Son.”
