Honouring loved ones with the Stroke Association’s Strength in Bloom virtual garden
Every five minutes, someone in the UK has a stroke. That’s 100,000 lives disrupted each year, leaving a trail of devastating consequences – physical disability, communication challenges, emotional turmoil, and the ever-present shadow of mortality.
At the Stroke Association, we understand the profound and lasting impact of stroke on individuals, families, and communities. In their honour, we are proud to be launching in May our new virtual garden, a place of calm where you can dedicate a symbolic flower, tree, or plaque to celebrate the resilience of a stroke survivor or honour the memory of a loved one lost to stroke.
As you explore the garden, find comfort in shared stories of strength and support. Immerse yourself in the serene sounds of birds and running water, the gentle breeze through the trees, and the playful dance of butterflies from flower to flower.
Inspired by our Garden for Recovery at the 2024 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, our digital oasis invites you to find a sense of tranquility and community, from anywhere in the world. Visit www.stroke.org.uk/garden this May to visit our Strength in Bloom garden.
Beyond its symbolic value, the Strength in Bloom garden also serves as a powerful fundraising initiative for the Stroke Association. For over 30 years, we have stood as a lifeline for survivors and their families, offering unwavering support, groundbreaking research, and tireless advocacy. Each virtual flower and plaque represents a cherished memory, a heartfelt message, or a symbol of hope for the future whilst also contributing directly to stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery.
The Stroke Association is deeply committed to supporting stroke survivors and their families throughout their post-stroke journey. The Strength in Bloom garden represents an extension of this commitment, providing a unique platform for remembrance and support.
