Mass fight outside cemetery as mourners descend into chaos
A video taken of a mass brawl which took place outside a Scottish crematorium has gone viral.
Footage of the fight was uploaded to Twitter and has been viewed over 25,000 times.
The video depicts mourners entering a service at Craigton Crematorium in Glasgow, when a large number of men and women begin to exchange punches and abuse.
The incident, which happened on 29 December, shocked bystanders and viewers of the video on the internet.
The Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Evening Times: “Police were called to a report of a large scale disturbance at Craigton Crematorium.
“Police attended and assistance and advice was given.
“There were no reports of any injuries and no one wished to make any complaint to police at the time. “No further incidents were reported.”
A spokesman from Craigton Crematorium told the Glasgow Evening Times: “On Friday, December 29 a group of 20-25 mourners were involved in a violent incident outside the crematorium prior to a funeral taking place.
“It quickly became apparent that the police would be required to intervene and they were called by a member of our staff.
“Once police took control, the funeral proceeded as scheduled and we have provided them with our CCTV footage.
“Whilst family disputes can sometimes happen at any emotional occasion this type of incident is thankfully very rare at a funeral.”
