On March 14, The London Cremation Company (LCC) recognised the opening of its sixth crematorium at a dinner for leaders from the entire funeral sector in North London’s Diamond Club in Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.
‘The Thames View Crematorium and Cemetery Gravesend’, on the south side of the Thames estuary, is a 27-acre Memorial Park which includes a crematorium, a formal cemetery, a woodland burial area and extensive areas laid aside for wildlife.
Non-executive chairman Mr Harvey Thomas CBE, and managing director and secretary Stephen Wright addressed the guests. They were joined by the MP for Rugby & Bulkington, Mark Pawsey, the chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Funerals and Bereavement.
Harvey Thomas said: “Of course, we are very pleased to be celebrating the opening of the Thames View Crematorium in Gravesend, which is the sixth London Cremation Company Crematorium.
“At the same time, we particularly wanted to bring together people from every part of the funeral and bereavement sector informally and in a nice setting – and with no business agenda. So I am also delighted that professionals from every aspect of our sector came, simply to get to know each other and to have fellowship in a delightful venue.”
