For the third consecutive year, Ballard & Shortall, Forest Row, supported the Forest Row Christmas Treat event on December 3.
The company teamed up with the Forest Row Business Forum and offered horse-drawn carriage rides to the local community. The funeral home helped to spread festive cheer around the village and raised money for the forum’s chosen charity, Oakwood Park – a local retirement estate.
There were lots of seasonal activities to enjoy, including a village Christmas market, arranged by the Parish Council, a funfair ride and a treasure hunt around the village, organised by the Holy Trinity Church.
Ballard & Shortall, along with other local businesses, created themed window displays about the popular carol, The 12 Days of Christmas. Ballard & Shortall represented Two Turtle Doves. Lots of the other local businesses in Forest Row opened their doors to residents and visitors and offered mulled wine and mince pies too.
Pippa Yates from Ballard & Shortall, Forest Row, commented: “This year’s event was a great success. The local community thoroughly enjoyed the horse-drawn carriage rides and we were delighted to raise £135 for Oakwood Park – a local retirement estate that we have worked closely with for several years.
“As members of the Forest Row Business Forum, it was great to see families interacting and supporting local independent businesses and in turn the chosen charity.”
