Tapper Funeral Service raises £2,300 for local charities
Dorset funeral home Tapper Funeral Service has raised more than £2,300 for a number of local charities across the region, harnessing the power of its popular Outlook Bereavement Support programme.
Outlook Bereavement Support is a programme of free, informal events that bring together the bereaved and enable them to help one another through the grieving process. The money was collected off the back of the programme’s series of successful social events from buffet lunches, to walking groups and coffee mornings which were held monthly throughout 2013.
At each gathering there is an optional small collection for a local charity and this has ranged from Broadstone Age Concern, Lewis Manning, Oakhaven Hospice, Forest Holme Hospice and Macmillan Caring Locally.
Steven Tapper, joint managing director at Tapper Funeral Service, said: “Bereavement is different for everyone and we wanted to create an environment and support network which people can call upon when they wish, to allow them to work through their emotions, at their own pace, but not in isolation.”
