Funeral directors supports local hospice

Austin’s Funeral Directors has presented a cheque to Hertfordshire charity Isabel Hospice.

Claire Austin, Austin’s MD, presented a cheque for £5,600 to the hospice at its in-patient unit.

Each year the 313-year-old firm nominates a local charity as the beneficiary of its charitable fund. Managed by the Hertfordshire Community Foundation, Austin’s Funeral Directors’ fund receives money from memorial donations and a percentage of the firm’s annual profits.

Isabel Hospice’s corporate relationship manager Emma Lippiatt said: “We are very grateful to Austin’s. We could not continue to provide our free end-of-life care without supporters such as Claire and her company.”

Claire Austin added: “We are always delighted to support the work of Isabel Hospice and the care it provides to local families and I’m thrilled to be able to present them with the proceeds of this year’s charitable fund.”

Director of the Hertfordshire Community Foundation Jonathan Aves commented: “Austin’s has a long history of supporting the local community and helping local people and groups. As a corporate fund holder at HCF, we are delighted to be working with Austin’s again this year with the vital support they have provided for Isabel Hospice.”

Austin’s has eight branches throughout north and east Hertfordshire and owns and runs Harwood Park Crematorium in Stevenage.
