Stockton funeral home open day a success
A horse-drawn hearse, Buddhist-style hearse and motorcycle hearse were on display outside a Stockton funeral home as part of an open day celebrating the 10th anniversary of its relocation.
Staff from the Co-operative Funeralcare on Norton Road opened the doors to invite the public to visit the home.
Manager David Knowles remarked: “It was a huge success. Around 60 people came throughout the day and were given a guided tour of the funeral home, which features an arranging room and three remembrance rooms.”
Residents were encouraged to ask questions about the work of a funeral director and view the vehicles on display, which illustrated how funerals can be tailored to the needs of an individual.
“Funerals are difficult and emotional times for all of us, but we hope by opening our doors we managed to break down some of the traditional barriers that exist,” David concluded.
