Woods and Tapper donates over £11k to Weldmar Hospicecare
The donation was made possible through the funeral provider’s partnership with Harbour View Crematorium and a European metal recycling company

Dorchester-based Woods and Tapper Funeral Service has presented Weldmar Hospicecare with a cheque for £11,384.74, calling the charity “valued and important” for the local area.
The donation was made possible through the funeral provider’s partnership with Harbour View Crematorium in Lytchett Minster and a specialist company in Europe that recycles metals leftover at the end of the cremation process.
Pauline Guy, manager of Woods and Tapper Funeral Service, said: “Part of our philosophy at Woods and Tapper Funeral Service is to be mindful of recycling whenever we can and of course Weldmar is such a valued and important part of society here in Dorchester.”
Steven Tapper, of Harbour View Crematorium, said: “for just a small amount of extra work at our crematorium, we are able to raise a significant amount of money for local hospice care, something that all of our team are passionate about.”
Fiona Hansford, fundraising lead at Weldmar Hospicecare, added: “A huge thank you to everyone at Woods and Tapper Funeral Service for their continued support of Weldmar Hospicecare. We are extremely grateful for this generous donation, which comes to us during a difficult time of rising running costs and increased demand for our services.
“As an independent charity, we rely heavily on the support of our local community so that we can continue to provide specialist end-of-life care for adults with a life-limiting illness across Dorset, and support for their loved ones.”
