Funeral Partners appoints new London-based funeral director

Having began developing her career in the industry as a funeral service operative, Samantha Wraight then moved on to assume the role of funeral arranger

Funeral Partners has appointed Samantha Wraight as its new funeral director at three of its London-based network brands – MM Broad and Sons Funeral Directors, Aaron Black Funeral Directors, and James Hawes and Goodchild Funeral Directors.

Wraight, who started working in the industry later in life, has previously had a successful career as a hairdresser and beautician. She now thrives under the responsibility of providing perfect services for families across London.

Having begun developing her career in the industry as a funeral service operative, she then moved on to assume the role of funeral arranger.

Wraight said: “Getting into the funeral industry just kind of happened but I have had great mentors and people to learn from. Now, being a funeral director, the biggest difference is being the main point of contact on the day of the service for the family.

“You have to make sure everything runs as the family wants it to. Whether that be something as simple as everyone wearing a purple tie, or something more unique and representative of their personality, it is about making sure it all goes well.”

Keen to continue her development, Wraight is currently working with Funeral Partners’ NAFD-approved tutor, Ian Reynolds, on her Funeral Directors diploma.

Reynolds added: “Samantha’s progression should be an inspiration to everyone here. We love to give opportunities to people to progress their careers as they excel at helping families and continue to learn about this industry.

“She is a shining example of all of our values of helping people, respect for everyone, professional standards, accepting responsibility and partnership, and I’m sure her career with us will continue to go from strength to strength.”
