George Brooke officially joins Funeral Partners
The business operates a total of three branches: two in Dewsbury on Sharp Street and Battye Street; and one in Mirfield on St. Paul’s Road
George Brooke Funeral Directors, which was established in 1952, has officially joined Funeral Partners.
After training as a joiner and undertaker, George Brooke founded his own business which grew from strength to strength for many decades.
Having been the first to establish a chapel of rest in Dewsbury and acquired the businesses of both Lewis Brook and F W Tong, George Brooke boasts a rich history that can be traced back 150 years.
Brooke’s children Neil, Helen and Judith joined the family business in the 1970s and 80s.
The business operates a total of three branches: two in Dewsbury on Sharp Street and Battye Street; and one in Mirfield on St. Paul’s Road.
Although Neil Brooke has since retired, his two other siblings will continue to run the business as part of Funeral Partners.
A spokesperson from Funeral Partners said: “We are proud that another business with a reputation for care, respect and understanding has chosen Funeral Partners as their acquisition partner. Welcome to Funeral Partners.”
This comes after Nicholas O’Hara Funeral Directors, which operates five funeral homes across Dorset, also made the decision to join Funeral Partners in early June.
Nicholas O’Hara was established in Wimborne in 1974 by Nicholas, his father Alfred, and his mother Brenda. Nicholas’ wife, Jackie, joined him in the business in the 1980’s.
