Coles Funeral Directors to sponsor Llandaff Xmas lights switch-on

All the funds raised are in support of Calon Hearts, which aims to reduce the number of people in Wales who lose a loved one to a preventable heart condition

Coles Funeral Directors has announced that it will be sponsoring Calon Hearts’ Christmas lights switch-on in Llandaff Village on Sunday 19 November.

The event at Llandaff Cathedral Green, which will feature appearances from Frozen’s Elsa and Go Compare’s leading man Wynne Evans, will be held between 4pm and 7pm on that Sunday.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm and tickets are £1 for adults, and completely free for children.

All the funds raised are in support of the Cardiff-based heart charity, Calon Hearts, which aims to reduce the number of people in Wales who lose a loved one to a heart condition that could have been detected and managed.

The charity offers heart screening services, access to defibrillators and CPR training as the solution.

Gareth Coles, company director of Coles Funeral Directors, said: “We’re proud to offer our support to Calon Hearts and the incredible work it does to support people with their heart health. Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of ill-health and death in Wales and the more preventative support on offer, the better.

“Bringing together the Llandaff community for this Christmas event is a great way to celebrate the festive season while raising essential funds for such a worthwhile cause.”

He added: “Thank you to everyone at Calon Hearts for your hard work and for allowing us to be a part of this special event in Llandaff.”
