Woollensbrook Cemetery honours Queen’s Jubilee
A plaque on the tree will be unveiled on Wednesday 25 May by Karen Trew – her majesty’s deputy lieutenant of Hertfordshire
Woollensbrook Cemetery and Crematorium has honoured the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by planting a tree in its grounds in tribute to the monarch.
A plaque on the tree will be unveiled on Wednesday 25 May by Karen Trew – her majesty’s deputy lieutenant of Hertfordshire.
One of the many initiatives launched to mark the monarch’s milestone is the Queen’s Green Canopy, a nationwide tree-planting project.
Site manager Martin Langdon said: “We wanted to do something to recognise and remember 70 years of service from Her Majesty and felt that planting a tree under the Queen’s Green Canopy project would be an appropriate way to pay tribute and create a memorial that, like the Queen herself, will stand proud for many, many years.
“We know the Queen feels trees are extremely important, so it seemed very apt for us to plant one in honour of her.”
