Dignity returns to profitability in H1
During the 26 week period, pre-tax profits reached £50.5m up from a previous year’s loss of £12.1m
Dignity has announced that it has returned to profitability in the first half of the year ending 25 June 2021.
During the 26 week period, pre-tax profits reached £50.5m, up from a previous year’s loss of £12.1m.
Revenue dropped slightly to £189m down from £197.1m the previous year as there were fewer funerals conducted in the first half of 2021 at 41,400, down from 46,000 in the first half of 2020.
Gary Channon, chief executive of Dignity, said: “There are a number of significant projects underway at Dignity that we are committed to delivering. Importantly we must take all of our stakeholders along on this journey, including our colleagues, clients and shareholders.
“Our focus is to build a successful and growing business by empowering our colleagues and giving them the tools to succeed which include competitive prices, the authority to act with local autonomy, great products and investment in people and premises.”
He added: “Our most ambitious goal though is to cultivate a culture that will be our true differentiator. Successful execution of our strategy will unlock significant value in our business.”
